Its settled. Ill live in Michelle World. - When I Grow Up MICHELLE WORLD: I take the time blocks Ive created for myself and rework them so theres more free time/me time. I view my schedule as a guidepost and not a steel cage. I take responsibility for what needs to be accomplished the structure I set for myself, but I give myself a freakin break and allow some flexibility for The Good/Important Stuff. I take time for myself view that time as not a luxury but a necessity. I dont put things (shoes, clothes, dishes, papers) down I put them away. I have a lot of freakin fun! I let go of the tasks that arent really working for me now. I put them somewhere for a rainy day, or a different time. If I hesitate in doing so, I dig deep to see why and possibly how I can fit this into my life. I realize theres no time for the bullshit and let it go, too. I only concern myself with pleasing the people who mean something to me. When I realize something is broke and I have the tools to fix it, I follow those steps for just a day. Then I can see what works for me and throw out what doesnt. Rinse repeat. I ask others for support. As you can tell from my post yesterday, I was being a bit tough/down on myself about all the things Ive been looking to change that I wasnt following through on. I know I couldnt live in Ideal World just like I couldnt live in Realistic World. Neither one of them would work for me. So, I decided to live in Michelle World a place where I can grow and thrive, be comfortable and relax, face resposibility and achieve my dreams. I started to see what that place looked like for me and how I could get there. With a nudge from Merci Miglino, an ICA trainer who allowed me to be coached on structures during class last night, I saw how I can take all of these tools Ive put in place and make them un-scary. I saw how I had fear around them being too rigid as well as thrusting me into Responsibility World a little sooner than I was ready. When I recognized that fear shaped it in a more positive way (in coach speak its called reframing) I saw the possibilities. The possibility of not feeling like a chicken with her head cut off. The possibility of reaching my goals simply due to the fact that its scheduled into my calendar. The possibility that I dont need to spend 2 hours on a Saturday cleaning my time apartment. The possibility that I wont be stretching myself too thin and I can have more me time. The possibility that something was broke I have the tools to fix it. The possibility that I can still be a carefree, silly grown-up and not a strict, librarian type of grown up. So now Im throwing this back to you (youre not off the hook that easily). To go back to the analogy of the smartphone, KUKA has created what is essentially an app store for robots, where users can browse and download all sorts of different software updates for their machines. KUKA has all this great operational data about their robots, so they can do things like predict the need for maintenance and other operating factors about that robot, says Elliot Yama, vice president and business leader, machine learning, with Apttus, a software company in the Bay Area whose products power the KUKA app store. Or you might want to upgrade the software for that robot, to optimize it. You think about an app store for our phones well, heres an app store for my industrial robot.3 Everything Will Be AutomatedAt the most basic lev el, any series of tasks that a person needs to do over and over again can be automated. Its a simple matter of determining what the task is and telling the machine what needs to be done. But with machine learning, not only can robots determine the tasks that most need to be automated, they can figure out how to best do them and teach other machines what they know about completing that task. This makes scaling up tasks essentially seamless. Thinking about it from a purely mechanical point of view, you can think about things like IoT devices being automatically turned on and off, about printers automatically finding issues that need to get solved, and any other cases where, literally, robots are sent out to fix things out before they actually break, says Allan Leinwand, chief technology officer with ServiceNow, a cloud computing company in Santa Clara, CA. There are applications where doing work in the cloud, combined with something running on the device, is actually the best way to do something. So, making use of the cloud in a more opportune way results in lower costs and faster hardware. Our brains just dont work fast enough. Clearly, the amount of data coming at us every day is not slowing down, but we need a way to intelligently sort and classify it all. Robotic technology is offering a solution to this problem, leveraging AI and analytics to break down the reams of data that exist on the cloud and categorizing them based on the applications that theyre managing. Over time, as a given companys robots are trained and train others, they will get better and better as a group at identifying the most important information available on the companys cloud servers. As a result, the Big Data that is now becoming so overwhelming will become more manageable. Yes, we need machines to keep up with the speed of data, says ServiceNows Leinwand. Yes, we need machines that can make predictive correlations and be able to predict where things are going to go and use machine learning to get there.
